Emancipated from the tyrannical power of sin Liberty, true liberty, comes not by the will of man, but by the purifying power of God (grace) which is able to set us free from the spiritual pollutions of the world. He who serves sin is a slave to sin and sin is his master; but he who turns from his own ways (repents) and follows after the ways of God is emancipated from the tyrannical power of sin which so easily besets us. Jesus Christ came into this world with the words of life and liberty, which if we apply them to the door posts of our hearts has the power to set us free from sin. It is the words of Christ (the new testament sealed by the blood of the Lamb of God) that has the power of God to set the captives free and to bring everlasting life to all who believe.
