The joy of the Lord is only imputed

Let all things be done for the glory of the Lord and nothing for self satisfying pleasure.

That which is done out of the motivation of pleasure results in the reproofs of sin by the Holy Spirit resulting in feelings of guilt and discouragement.

That which is done out of the motivation of glorifying God results in the reproof of righteousness by the Holy Spirit called joy.
The joy of the Lord is only imputed to those who seek to do God's will and not their own.

Brethren, there is no joy in living a life of pleasure in the pursuit of fun, only feelings of deep guilt and remorse, the reproof of sin and judgment.

Joy, real joy can only come into our lives when we love God and glorify Him.

In pleasure there is no glory.
