Brethren, the evil one will defeat you in that which you lack and
not in that which you have.
If you lack love, you will be defeated by the lack of a sense of
purpose and the presence of bitterness will preoccupy your mind and
heart.
If you lack faith, you will be defeated by the lack of strength and
the will to be victorious and you will be overcome by feelings of
spiritual weakness called doubt.
If you lack hope, you will be defeated because you won't even
try to win the victory and you will be overcome by feelings of
discouragement and despair.
