©05/24/2002 Jim Welch Scriptural references for: May 24 Verbatim references: None Suffering is the key to the pathway of
Godliness; but a life of ease filled with pleasure is a wide freeway
that leads to perdition and the gates of hell. Jesus said, Straight is the gate that leads to
life and few they be that find it; but wide is the gate and broad is
the way that leads to destruction and many will go
thereby. Lot choose the easy green pastures that led
him directly to Sodom and Gomorrah, but Abraham choose the rocky dry
lands of holiness. Brethren, be lovers of God and not lovers of
pleasure as nearly all people including many so called Christians have
become in these last days. Choose the hard pathway of holiness and
godliness and lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, not pleasure
on earth. Pleasure is a snare by which Satan captures
many unwary travelers. |
